Have you ever noticed the sense of ownership or independence you feel when you visit a club, house of worship, barbershop, in a bus or any public space where no visitor has ownership over? Like no one can tell you where or where not to sit or stand! Have you ever wondered why this is so?

Ajibade could recollect when he was departing home to his new boarding school. His mother hugged him and held him all the while, sobbing. His father just stood back and watched the emotional scene unravel. His first son and child was now going into a secondary School far away from home.

The thing about shortcuts.
This morning on my way down to the CMM Academy, our Keke Marwa (Motor- Tricycle) had to come to a halt- by a traffic light. Yeah you heard right. By a traffic light with no officer in sight. One of the fellow passengers asked the driver, why he had stopped. “Oga move, there is no officer there.”I couldn’t just seat in silence.
The Labor Day Experience
Under the very beautiful Earth (sunny in some parts of the country while rainy in some others), our dear country participated in the Global Event- World Labor Day.
The spectacle was a joy to behold, well at least for the Governors, Senators and government officials all seated under the canopies of success as the employees (both state, federal an private) marched on under different banners and union.

We know from time to time, the spirit is weak and the soul, deflated. We feel like sometimes, we just want to give up in the face of difficulties. For my colleague, with whom I was speaking with this morning, Indomie Noodles to his father just represents “ounje omode” – (food for babies). And I’m sure for most people it is seen as so. Probably because of the comical/ kid contents in their adverts. Read more
